HONG KONG EXCHANGE 2023
On 5-13 October 2023, Dr.Phornsant was assigned to take care of 8 KVIS students to Hong Kong for exchange experiences at G.T. College. The students are Chayaporn, Wirulphat, Jiratip, Purich, Jittiyada, Patcharakan, Buraporn, and Tat. With the hospitality of Professor Rex Li (Director), Dr.Raymond TAM (Principal), and all other superiors there including the international in-charge, Dr. Paul Lip and Mr. Jeff Colonel, who came to fetch us at the airport, we felt very warm. They provided a lot of active programs which we really enjoyed like: writing Chinese character session, frog surgery in biology, elective subjects, physical education class, stem in robotics, Hong Kong Science Museum, Typhoon Number 8, Ocean Park, Hong Kong University of science and technology, and finally Disney land.
However, We would like to thank all host families who were one of the major parts of proving the adaptability of our students. From our sharing, they are happy and enjoy the differences not only in location appearance but also in social and emotional dimensions. This helps them learn how to build good relationships with others. Our students learn how to adapt themselves very well and they enjoy being with the family in this project.
In general, our students were happy with this G.T. College trip. From their reflection papers concerning their experience on this trip, There were a lot of positive and impressive issues like the host Family, culture, impression, adaptability, hospitality, etc. We can summarize the following details: Host Family: Most of our students were impressed with the host family, their relatives, and their buddies since they showed their warm welcome and were so kind and friendly to our students. Culture: They learned about the Cantonese language, food, chopsticks, the culture of taking a bath only in the evening, and also the tourist spots and environments of Hong Kong city. Adaptability: Some of our students express clear concerns about their learning in real life like adaptability to new environments, caring more for others, and being more manurable. They were also impressed with buddies. The most mentioned impressions were teachers and friends, and cultural activities. Some mentioned to his/her buddies and host families the issue of caring. Finally, our exchange program make our students learn in various dimensions and the most impressive for all of us is their hospitality which we can capture on different occasion like how G.T. College or the host family treated our students very well. Vice academic principal reported.
